St James’s Gate brewery in for an overhaul

British based drinks corporation, Diageo has announced plans to renovate the St James’s Gate brewery in Dublin. The plan is to sell off operations in Kilkenny and Dundalk, as well as portions of the company’s Dublin property, while spending £520 million on an upgrade of the old Guinness brewery.

It is estimated 250 jobs will go with in the restructuring, with the new brewery facility producing Guinness for Ireland and the United Kingdom markets when it is completed in 2013.
